Steve Magee

Steve Magee is a Fairfield-based artist who enjoys exploring the stories of people he sees around the world. His work is a combination of graphic compositions and human emotions. Colors and textures of oil paint weave the moment and emotion together on the canvas.

Steve’s art career is a long and winding road. It began in Scarpantoni’s Art Studio, Spring Valley, New York as a a ten year old kid, still wearing his Little League uniform, covered with pastel chalk and dirt from a play at the plate earlier in the day. Next, a BFA from Syracuse and 30 award-winning years in advertising with clients ranging from the Fortune 500 to friends opening a local restaurant. Then a move to real estate and architecture as a General Contractor building luxury homes. Finally, in the summer of 2017, he discovered Silvermine Studios in New Canaan. Took a one day oil painting class with Artist Alex McFarlane, and he was hooked.

His visual awareness has never been at a higher level.
